Optional Excursion: Mt. Rigi

An optional day’s excursion is planned for those who would like to see more of Switzerland. We will go by train to Lucerne, where we can explore the historic Old Town and famous bridge, the Kapelbrucke, the landmark of Lucerne, before boarding a steamship to sail to a small village on the lake. We’ll stop for lunch at a lovely lakeside restaurant that serves delicious, local, fresh food in a truly beautiful spot.

From there we will take a mountain gondola with incredible views (weather permitting) of the Lake of Lucerne and the Alps. We’ll visit the top of Mt. Rigi, a mountain visited by Jung and described in his Memories, Dreams, Reflections. The summit again provides splendid views and a wonderful experience of the Swiss countryside. At the end of the day, we’ll return to Einsiedeln by train. In this one day, you will be able to experience many aspects of Switzerland including several fun and dramatic ways to travel in the mountains. This excursion is not included in program cost.

A fee of $210, based on a minimum of 10 participating, includes full day excursion and all transportation. Meal costs are on your own to allow for individual preferences and budgets.
